Not due to See hospital professor til June. Hospital says to stay on prednisolone 30mg til review. Gp keen to reduce this further. Unfortunately every 2-3 weeks the pred goes up to 40 mg. Now getting bogged down again with it... Hospital says side effects we can deal with. Gp says he doesn't want the side effects therefore reduce....... My head hurts

Prednisolone......
I say stick with the hospital's decision simply because as a GP once said to me quite recently I am only a general practitioner and the hospital are more specialised in dealing with certain areas. If your GP continues to press you to reduce smarties, explain the conflict with the hospital's directions. And if necessary ask them to speak to him about it. Its quite important particularly when you see this Prof in June that your GP complies with the Prof direction in approach to treatment and tests. I have found that only when do all of the patients medical care providers agree to let the expert take the reins does the patient feel happy and comply. Good luck.
Hi I'm stuck on pred too and my doc not very good at giving me enough, he always under does the doses for me and my Son so I ask the consultant I only the trust him with asthma. I like the name smarties. I call them M+Ms, manky + miserable as that's how they make me feel or unhappy pills.
Thanks for the replies. I will stay with hospital instructions . I Always do. I've told hospital about gp problems. They did write to gp improved it for a wee while but now back to square 1. Just getting fed up wie clash of advice. Everyone gets excited with challenges of my asthma and new diagnosis. yet no one can get it under control........ Sorry for moan
Hi, stick to the hospital advice as a long run of pred might be the one thing to get it controlled. i'm a bit worried for you as it increases blood sugar...
