Antibiotics!

Does anyone know anything about an antibiotic called Co-Amoxicav? A friend's relation has been prescribed it and he claims his breathing is 50 per cent better. I wish!

Isn't that one of the prophylactic options if your lung biopsies/washes show cultures?

Use the power of the Internet and google it ( other search engines are available)

I had this after 3 other antibiotics didnt shift my chest infection. They are strong and are a mixture of amoxycillin and clavulanic acid, they seemed to do the trick though. I didnt have any probs either, Gp quippped ""this with kill anything"", so said "" as long as it doesnt kill me""!!, gp not amused and gave me daggers- obviously doesnt have much of a sense of humour.

Depending on the infection, this one (often called Augmentin) is sometimes the 2nd line drug used if the standard Amoxicillin doesn't work. But this is can be the first line for some infections (eg sinus). A common side effect is nausea/stomach upsets.

Sorry ljh,

I was going to google it. What I meant was....experienced the USE of!

Thank you all for the positive feedbackxxx

Hi Joan, Me and hubby have both taken it, me quite a few times. It's strong stuff and certainly knocked out the infection. Side effects were feeling a bit rough and queasy.

I have had it after two other antibiotics didnt touch the infection I had, worked well and no side effects at all with me. XX

It's fantastic it certainly does the trick for me.

i take it twice aday every day to help stop chest infection flare-ups. Its a very good antiboitic

I know now that I am allergic to it!
