weeannie60 You ask what kind of lifestyle? Well, if you take it steady and keep coming on here you will be ok. There will be days when you feel down but half hour on here should pick you up nicely. You will also learn a lot about our disease. I am Bob and I have COPD moderate/severe but I still enjoy life to the full. xx
Thank. You. Bob. That's nice to hear. You get told so many things it confuses me sometime but I look forward to visiting the site and getting to know abot The condition and meeting lovely people who take the time to listen thank you for your time xx

Hi weeannie. I have very severe emphysema but no other problems so reasonably fit. I do most things but take more time than normal as I get short of breath. You'll get good information from the members on here as they have the experience of the illnesses..
Thanks puff it nice how everyone is so helpful I think that's my biggest problem trying to slow down
Hi weeannie60
Welcome to the forum - i'm sure you will find lots of excellent advice and support on here.
One of the biggest things i would suggest is trying to get a balance, still doing things and enjoying your life without overdoing things and tiring yourself out too much. Steroids can be reduced over time depending on why they have been prescribed, are they for the COPD or the fibrosis? It may be worth discussing this with your consultant.
We are here at the helpline Monday - Friday 10am -6pm - 03000 030 555 - please call us us if you would like to chat further.
Cheers
Jo
Hi
Sorry, just to add on to this, pulmonary rehabilitation can be very helpful to people with COPD and IPF.
You can ask your GP to refer you to this - it is a course of exercise that helps to improve your fitness and help to reduce breathlessness, for more information you can click on the link below:

Thank you jo I will talk to my gp and consultant thank you for taking the time to answer me xx
Hello Weeannie and welcome. I am new too and just joined July after being diagnosed with COPD. So glad that I found this site as everyone is so friendly and helpful. Take care
Hello. I have very severe emphysema and have had to slow down considerably. However, my advice would be to continue to do whatever you like to do (except smoking!) but just take it a little steadier. You will soon find your level. And, as has been suggested, a pulmonary rehab course (PR) will give lots of tips about diet, exercise, etc.
