I dont know how old you are,, hev67, but older people dont sleep as well on average. They get up several times a night, get restless, cramps, and the need for the loo. This is the norm for them. People with chest condition are affected too. I should sleep in an upright position but it is all too easy to slump down in the bed. Result, coughing all morning to rid myself of the rubbish that has shifted. I dont have COPD -- brochiectasis and asthma.

I manage to stay more propped up now that I have a cuddle pillow that I use as a bolster - somehow it keeps other pillows and me in place - much better sleeps now.

Yes i can oonly sleep a few hours as i have copd but when i sleep i got 4 pillows

but i still got to take my pumps when i wake up . If i do not then i see hospital

i go to bed 1or2 and up by 5or 6 but i sleep Down stairs

My husband only sleeps about 4/5 hours but bought him Night Rescue Remedy - I think he has about 6 drops and that seems to help. Maybe you could talk to your Doctor I remember reading about sleep problems and using a CPAP machine for sleeping disorders. It could be the COPD - do you have a nebuliser perhaps if you use it before you go to bed, then it may prevent you getting breathless in the night. It might be one of those irritiating things or the COPD has caused a sleeping disorder. It might be an idea to ring the BLF helpline - they may have some practical advise. Good Luck TAD xx
