Unfortunately, jennymike, there is no such thing as "not expensive" when in comes to travel insurance quotes for anyone with COPD. I've contacted just about every travel insurance company there is and have not received a quote that was under £1,500 and that was for a 14 day trip to Switzerland to visit my daughter and grand-daughter.
I have copd and high blood pressure and have just been quoted £234 for a 14 day trip to the USA by SAGA but a lot depends on your recent history (hospital admissions etc)
Try axa. I got it cheap last year and I have ipf.
We used Holiday Extras for our 3 week trip to Canada - £200 for both of us and it covered COPD, Asbestosis and Asthma. Good luck
I have just been told by saga that I cannot renew my annual travel insurance - as I have 3 inhalers not 2 as last year - and that's despite being a year further away from having been in hospital !!!
i went onto compare the market then go onto compare travel insurance. i filled an online medical and then received lots of quotes. the difference from the most expensive to cheapest was unbelievable, my bank quoted me twice the amount as the cheapest and everything was covered. i.e. medical, luggage etc. hope this helps.x
I just got a annual multi trip travel insurance for Europe from Age UK for both of us with me declairing COPD on the on line screening for £140 and it was straight forward to do on line.
