Hi any tips please?

Have got that awful salty taste in mouth which usually means a cold is coming. Any tips for heading it off please before it can really take hold?

Any other signs of a cold? We all have different attitudes to getting rid of a cold. I am not sure that you can avoid a cold if it is coming. Sometimes, it will drive it in. What I do is to try to lessen the symptoms, sit back hope it wont be too bad.

Hi, I have just been given a book on the advantages of vitamin C! Apparently if you take 1000mg of Vitamin C ( I use the water soluble stuff) once an hour until you start to feel better this will ward it off! Didn't give my daughter quite as much - just three times in a day - when she started with a sore throat last week and it didn't seem to mount to anything else. Good Luck! TAD xx

Hi, I'm with Bob on this. I take 2 paracetamols as often as permitted while I've still got that cold coming feeling. I've not heard before about hot lemonade but it sounds a good idea. Alternatives would be a hot toddy or a hot honey drink - basically any hot sweet drink which takes your fancy I think.

I managed to fight off a cold a few weeks ago and it's good to know the body can fight back on its own sometimes - who knows, maybe it wouldn't have developed anyway, but I felt quite pleased with myself!

Hope that horrible feeling goes away and you feel good again soon. All the best!

Remember that add, 'first signs of cold or flu take Beechams Powders' I think they might help and lots of drinks, stay warm and I hope you feel much better soon. :) x

Wow hot tip??? I will probably go to Cheltenham to see my friend in March. We go to the races but not on gold cup day. We usually go Ladies Day. My street cred would go up no end If I got the winner!

I found a recipe that works for me so if I've been mixing with those normal peeps I take a drink of this concoction : 2 lemons, pips, flesh and rind

1 piece of ginger, peeled and shaved

12 cloves

1 tspn ground cinammon

1 pint of water

Boil and simmer for about 30mins, strain and drink a mugful before bed

Cold, what cold?

Lungs, what lungs?

Thanks for replies everyone. I have heard of the vitiman C one and I guess anything with vitamin c in is good. Will try them.

Thanks again

Bev xxxx
