Lovely! I miss my Duvet but could not manage to change the cover without near collapse. I empathyse with the nasty dreams, a few years ago I started to go through the process of getting comfy and then, in my mind, built my ideal house from location to plants for the garden. I still do it and although not so depressed these days it still works for me. Hope you had a good nights sleep....and many more!

Ha ha ha I have my own nice fantasies of getting to sleep. Doesn't affect my nasty dreams though.

well hypercat you made a ggod decision with the duvet, have you a pusscat, if so where does it sleep i can only guess under the duvet, like my sons cat does, keep warm and may you never feel cold in bed again.

in reply tothatcham1939

Actually he sleeps on top of the bed - he doesn't like it underneath the duvet and neither do it - too many cat hairs. Then I do cough!

Hi hypercat, my two dogs sleep on my bed, i would be lost without them, we always had pussy cat but our pussy called G.T died in Feb he was nearly 17

now i must tell you hypercat that im finally going to have a duvet.i always felt the heat, but after having very bad bronchitis last Aurgust and be very i was also very cold all through winter so a duvet may be the answer.

Happy you are keeping warm. Enjoy your new duvet.

I have a constant hot water bottle , its my Jack Russell April..She never looses her heat and I can put my cold feet on her anytime. :)

Awww lovely x

I have used duvets for years. I know people that will travel with sheets and blankets because they wont move with the times. The duvet, the cat and me -- and then comes crunch time changing the cover. A battle which the duvet wins.

NB cats give off dander - affects breathing?

Sheer genious and what a labour of love that sewing must have taken. This forum and the people on it never ceases to amaze and also humble me and glad I'm not the only one also who dreads putting on a duvet cover (one of the times I'm glad I live alone and no one can see or even worse hear me)

I have a much better way - my husband does it! ;)

To get the duvet cover on I start by turning it inside out and then putting my hands inside the cover and grabbing two corner of the duvet so the these 2 corners are right inside and then work my way down to the other end pulling the cover down to the bottom.

Lol thats true togetherness sylb

Great to see all the replies thank you very much. I decided a new duvet and hot water bottle much cheaper than getting a man to keep me warm in bed lol :)

PS Maybe not as much fun though.....

lol, i get my better half to change ours too! it's not that it gets me out of breath as i'm not a sufferer BUT it's the one job (besides polishing) that I really hate and since i do all the other cleaning cooking washing and ironing it's only fair that he gets some of the not so nice jobs too lol. Poppy out little dog, sleeps under the duvet, I often wake up in the morning and she's between me and Tony with her head on the pillow and she's fast alseep - spoiled is what she is but on the up side she's always warm so it's like having a little hot water bottle next to you. We wouldnt be without her!

Hope your duvet and hottie bottie kept you nice and snuggly warm. Our staffie is a big wuss and hates the cold but she knows I don't like her in the bed so she creeps up under the covers in the winter on my wifes side of the bed and lays down by her feet so I can't tell that she's there. All females are a liitle bit sneaky!! lol

Hi HC, I bought a Nimbus microfiber duvet in the summer when it was on offer on Amazon, it is only a summer weight low tog rating but I still have it on the bed now.

I am delighted with it, light as a feather and soft as silk. My only regret is I didn't buy one sooner along with cotton sheets,

I hope yours brings you as much pleasure..

I love my duvet :)
