i have bronchiectasis, and i am having night sweats, i am 69 so its not the menopause is this normal with this condition
I have bronchiectasis and am 61 and female. I don't have night sweats. It might be an idea to look at the Patient Information Leaflet for all your drugs and see if this is a reported side effect. Or telephone your local friendly pharmacist, they're a mine of information
love, FF x
thankyou for the information to look at the Patient information Leaflet
Hi there! I have Bronchiectasis and I do get night sweats although not all the time - it is a sign that I have an infection brewing. It's one of those things that isn't listed as a symptom but quite a few sufferers get, based on chats I've had with other sufferers. Obviously, if you're concerned then it might be worth checking with your consultant and/or GP.
Take care.
Hello Thatcham , I too have night sweats. When I have a chest infection (I think they are exacerbation ) I have to change my soaking nightdress a couple of times a night.
Other times I am ok or have a less severe problem just affecting the top of my nightdress.
I have pure cotton sheets, nightress and a thin microfibre duvet which I think helps to make me feel more comfortable.
I am pretty certain I have COPD, but am being treated for Ashma while waiing to see a consultant,
I am 66 and still have night sweats, think you need to get checked out.
thankyou very much for your e-mail, you are possibly right i will check
Hi There
I have just had a chat with one of our nurses who has suggested it may be useful to take a sputum sample into your GP's to be tested to make sure there isn't an underlying infection there.
How do you feel in yourself, well, unwell?
If you would like to talk to us call 03000 030 555.

I also have Bronchiectasis (dignosed in Feb 2012), I'm 62 yrs old and have had night sweats for several years. I have two glasses of wine in the evenings and have put it down to that . . .
A GP told me once that some women can continue with 'hot flushes' for many years after the menopause has finished! I agree with 'fairyfootsteps' to check the Patient Information Leaflets on any drugs, call your local pharmacist or perhaps have a chat with NHS Direct. Out of interest, what drugs are you on for your Bronchiectasis? Take care.

thankyou for replying to my question, i am also have diabetes but that is under control, i was diagnosed 4mths ago, andi find coming to terms with it is difficult. my Bronchiectasis is due to scarring from tb i had 45yrs ago, i was 14yrs old and told there was no scaring and i would no effects from it
I have noticed the sweats are not so bad since I switched from Qvar to Seretide though it may just be coincidence . Thatcham it may be worth reviewing your meds.
