Can not walk far and after having to stop work on health grounds due to a a number of illnesses a new car to replace the old one is needed. Where do you apply for cars that my husband will drive for me because they took my license until more tests on my heart are finished.

thank you for listening

You must get the higher rate mobility component of DLA.

Have a look on

motability.co.uk loads of info on there.

I have a motability car and it is my lifeline, could not go anywhere without it. This is my second one, I get a new one every 3 years, all I have to do is put petrol in everything else is done by motability.

To qualify for Motability you have to be in receipt of Disabled Living Allowance at the middle or higher rate, I believe. Find out if your Local Authority has a Benefits Adviser and, if so, make an appointment to see them. They are fantastic at filling in the necessary forms in the correct way.

Good luck Sponge-Bob !
