I haven’t posted anything for a while but last week I had a reply from Government Petitions ( at last!) saying that, with a couple of tweaks to my petition on the RSV vaccine being made available to over 79, they will publish it!👏
Hope this will be soon and I hope that by getting as many folk to sign, the vaccine will become available to those over 79 ( not just 75 - 79 years old) who would like to have it.
I will post here when the petition becomes available to sign.
Thank you to everyone who said they would sign , I think that EVERYONE over 79 should be eligible, regardless of whether they want to have it or not.
I’m at last feeling better after catching the RSV virus at Christmas, I’m 81 now and certainly hope I don’t get another dose!
I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.

Thank you for doing this, I will certainly sign it even though personally it won't help me get the desperately and much needed RSV vaccination as not yet 75.
Hi I am 75 and caught the Rsv virus 2nd of Jan ( I was anti vax, not now ,! )I started to get better last week…We have had the jab now ,I thought I would never get well again.
While I was hospitalized for 4 days with RSV, mostly I had a rather bad cough that lasted while I was there, but once I came out of the hospital, it was really rather mild and didn't last long. I was surprised because my lungs are really in pretty bad shape, and I am 79 years old with emphysema, asthma, and have large asbestosis plaques in my lungs. I recovered from it quickly! I've also read somewhere that you do build up a little immunity against it, so that if you are reinfected, it is not as severe as the first time. I am not anti-vaccine, but I think that I may skip getting a shot for it. I do not mean to imply that others should not get this vaccine, as this is just what I have decided! We all react differently and perhaps, I was just lucky!
