We are excited to announce that Asthma + Lung UK is a 2024 Charity of the Year finalist, in Slater and Gordon’s Charity of the Year competition, we have been selected as one of ten charities shortlisted, following a stringent judging process where more than 200 applications were received.

This is a true testament to the work that we do and the impact we have for many individuals, families and communities across the UK.

Thank you to the judging panel, Madelene Holdsworth (Managing Director of Specialist Legal Services at Slater and Gordon), Charity Week Founder Lee Rayment as well as Fran Eccles-Bech, Chief Executive at Manchester Law Society.

The charity selected as Charity of the Year will receive a significant five figure donation and a commitment to 12 months of fundraising support and brand visibility. A donation of this size will help us continue supporting the 12 million people across the UK who are living with a lung condition. The donation will help us deliver vital support services, health advice and health resources that millions of people rely on every year. It will also help to fund life-changing research that could improve the lives of millions of people across the UK in the future.

Please help us today by voting for Asthma + Lung UK to be the 2025 Charity of the Year!

How can I vote for Asthma + Lung?

The voting page is now live on the Slater and Gordon website here -

slatergordon.co.uk/charity-...

The deadline for voting is 8th January, so please make sure you support us and vote before then.

Michael Dunleavy, Head of Business Development at Slater and Gordon comments “Our Charity of the Year campaign is a new initiative that allows us to take a moment to shine a light on the important work charities do for individuals and communities across the country

Selecting the top ten charities from more than 200 entries was not an easy task, as each charity that applied supports such amazing causes and all have compelling stories.

Before casting your vote, I urge everyone to take their time in reading each charity’s inspiring story and their vision for change, innovation and impact.

Congratulations and good luck to our finalists.”

Thank you for all your support.

Very straightforward and simple to vote so 🤞🤞🤞🤞, hopefully if we win it will make this charity better known, respected and recognised. I'm pretty sure many members using the forum & helpline don't realise that it's run by a charity. P

I'm regretting voting for ALUK now I've read about the CEO of it standing up for getting rid of MDI s! Grrrr has s/he ever tried a breath activated inhaler when s/he cannot breathe during emergencies and desperate need of relief.

Should I vote for a charity which is promoting the abolition of Ventolin and other aerosol inhalers, which so many of its members rely on?

Good luck. You are a valuable resource to all of us with a lung condition and we certainly need more funded research.
