Adult Nasal Cannula for 7lt per minute (High Flow)

Good afternoon everyone I am currently on 7 Ltpm of oxygen through a high flow Cannula, I change my Cannula's evert week, but this week I have found that it feels like my nostrals are burning on the inside, when trying to breath up the oxygen, causeing me to take it off and not take in any oxygen? Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

Kind regards as always

Joe.

It might be that your nostrils are dry. Mine burn when I am more dehydrated. A consultant told me that oxygen can be drying when taken in through an oral mask . Sorry I cannot be of more help.

Could well be that your nostrils are dry safest thing to use, strangely enough is KY Jelly. You can smooth a small amount onto the cannula itself quite safely
