I'm under Papworth for my PH and had 2 cardio catherization proceedures and going back february 26 for tests to see how im progressing with the new meds and hopefully will get good news to have my right lung having the LVR operation as the one on my left lung in 2020 was very successful. Fingers crossed

Did you have clots in your lungs? Did the surgery help you breath better?

I've been on blood thinners for a few years but I have severe COPD and Royal Papworth carried out the operation and Addenbrookes Hospital wanted then to operate on my right lung as the first op was very good for me and improved my breathing but after they performed the cardio catherization procedure they diagnosed PH and told me that i would not survive the operation. Let's see how the next tests go

I’d LVR used if you have got hyper inflated lungs?

Yes. What would you like to know?

I’m wondering how long the first outpatients appointment will take. What do they do?

Do you have clots in your lungs ?

Sorry for the delay!

I had clots in my lungs in 2012 and 2021. The first lot were the results of chemotherapy and were diagnosed when I was admitted to A&E at my local hospital. The second lot were diagnosed by the Brompton when I was an inpatient for investigation into breathlessness, so I didn’t have to wait for an outpatient appointment.

Both times I was treated with blood thinners in injection form and with the first lot I was on Warfarin for 6 months. The RB put me on Rivaroxaban tablets for life. There were x rays and CT scans used in diagnosis.

Hope this helps, and good luck.
