Seasonal flu jabs

Hi All I had my two jabs on Saturday very good at my local chemist . I now have two aching arms , so taking things easy. Much better to have the jabs than get a bad chest infection. Hopefully I will feel better tomorrow . All done and dusted as they say not bad after four messages in a fortnight . The people who do the job can't keep pace like the computer. Hope everyone else is getting the jabs without too much trouble .

Thats great Katie, one thing less to worry about.I had both mine on Friday afternoon, extremely sore arm on flu side but here i am on Sunday morning and feel fine. Yes, its a huge relief to be done & dusted (not forgetting that the protection takes a couple of weeks to kick in).

I have to say I wish to goodness I'd taken a mask to my vaccination centre, in the queue the couple behind me kept shuffling up right up so I could feel their hot breath on my neck. I got myself in quite a huff wondering at the stupidity of the general public.........don't they know covid is rife again, people are in hospital with it not too mention their ignorance of the fact there are plenty of vulnerable people around who don't need to catch a cold, cough, flu or covid grrrrrr

Yes peege some people have no thought for others. But that's me and you done . My friend had the virus injection and still got the virus, fortunately I have not been in touch with her only by phone so I tested clear. But must order some more tests as winter is on us. Its a bit overcast today but still dry. Enjoy the rest of your day.

I must remember to take masks with us when we go for our jabs.

Think it is time to start wearing masks again there seems to be the winter cold bug doing the rounds and its quite severe . But could be mistaken for the Virus so we do need to take care and wear masks again and really test if we have any symptoms.

I went to a local pharmacy last Monday for the covid booster. They were handing masks out to everyone. Had my flu jab the week before at my GP surgery, not a mask in sight.

Glad you're done n dusted too Carole and very good of your pharmacy to hand out masksYesterday I went to Gloucester Royal hospital to see my good friend & neighbour who fell on the bus Saturday AM, broke her hip, absolutely no one I came across was wearing a mask bar a couple just wheeling a trolly from an operating theatre. A big city hospital? Luckily Angela is on the ball & up to date with her jabs .

I find it all quite worrying Penelope. If more was on the news again the public may take more simple precautions. The whole thing is being ignored by the government in spite of WHO concerns.

Hi Katie, we’re having ours at 10.30 so hoping all will be well. Glad you’re ok and hoping your arms feel less itchy tomorrow. Xxx

My wife and I didn’t want both jabs at once so had flu jab at our local Boots 10 days ago and Covid jab at an NHS centre on Friday. I had sore arm with both jabs but as usual my wife didn’t.

I had both jabs done on Saturday , one in each arm, sore but job well done as they say. Although I have had all jabs I have had the virus too so should be super protected. ( smiles)

I had my flu jab and my Vitamin B12 jab done last Friday, and I’m going to have my 8th Covid jab next Monday.

Gosh I wish I could have these vaccinations. Mine immune system and body had an awful reaction to them in 2021 and now I can't have them unless I risk being very unwell for an indeterminate amount of time. Great to hear how easily people are getting them and some of the precautions and protection being in place. Shocking re no masks etc.I went to the Brompton Heart & Lung hospital and a nurse asked me if I was going to leave my mask on? Not sure what that thinking was about? The nurses all said none wears masks anymore, but she said you never know, they might ask is to again sometime.

One wore one to do my obs. I was grateful for that.

Sorry you had a bad experience with the injections , I am not sure about no masks as all hospitals treat varied illness and infection and I feel to maintain good infection control masks and good hygiene helps. My friend has just been diagnosed with the virus, I have been in close contact with her but my tests are clear. she has been ill for about three weeks when she first had cold symptoms I said I would not see her due to me having a lung condition. She most likely caught hers in the dialysis unit at the hospital. I am exempt from wearing masks but do wear them none the less. Due to a recent skin cancer removal I have been in more than one hospital re treatment in the past 12 months. I was completely housebound during the lockdown and when they reduced the rules I went to a family party and ended up with the virus, so know what it feels like there were family visiting from another part of the UK. I have also been in contact with an infected person before without becoming infected and they were a nurse. It's a lottery as they say. I have had all the injections but still got the virus very severe lasting for months after. Thank you for your reply try to stay well as can be .

Were you ok with your flu jab. I was but I’ve heard some people are quite poorly. I’ve had mine and was fine I’m having the Covid on on the 25th October. I had Covid and shingles at the beginning of the year so I’m hoping the vaccination will be ok. I know I was quite poorly when I had it. I was in bed for the whole ten or so days, just getting up to feed the cat and get something for me although I didn’t feel like eating at all. Xx

I am usually OK with the flu jab but both together I'm not sure of I feel a bit breathless this morning and sickly. But the virus is far worse. As you say Mavary it makes you want to stay in bed. Some people have the injections without any effects. Good luck with yours later in the month. x

My flu one was fine. My arm was just a tiny bit sore whereas my arm usually comes up in a big lump and is really sore.

My Son has just had Covid. He’s had it three or four times now. He hardly know he’s got it now. He just feels like he’s got a cold. He works with Children so that’s where he got it from. There’s a lot of it about at the moment. My ironing lady had it. Xx
