I hope you get some answers soon, and I hope the drs strike doesnβt affect your discharge.
Youβre being looked after Sheila and hoping tomorrow brings good results. Thinking of you.

Looks like it's my Heart Carole. Knew it was something different as no infection fingers crossed can be treated with meds.love to you and Pete. Hoping your RT is going well xxSheila πβπ.
πββοΈ. Everything crossed for good results π€. Take care xxx
I hate that hospitals seem to shut down over the weekend, madness π€¦ββοΈ
How are you doing now, are you able to breathe a little better?
Thinking of you today, and I hope they get on with finding some answers tomorrow xx π€
That's it people don't just stop getting ill because it's the weekend do they?
Up here in East Cardiff nearly all the pharmacies here shut on a Sunday and the Well ones are Monday to Friday only although the independent St Mellons pharmacy opens on a Sunday from 10/4 say should I need anything on a Sunday that's the place to go to.
Thatβs also why itβs recommended by eg care homes, that youβre not discharged from a hospital on a Friday - if you have a downturn and need medical help, you have precious little chance of finding a doctor over a weekend. This has been the situation for over 15 years, it isnβt anything new, but itβs getting worse, strikes or not π€·ββοΈ
When I worked in the hospital pharmacy last year they discharged patients on a Friday afternoon which I thought was stupid and we would be crazy busy on a Friday afternoon there sorting out discharge packs for patients.
Julie who started the same time as I did finished the month after I did as she hated the place and how it was run!
They had said to me how the technicians there supposedly were fed up of me asking for help and no they hadn't said that management had made it up to be nasty!
All that the nastiness was over wasn't to do with my performance it was to do with that my face didn't fit there!
I'm glad I'm not there anymore!
Still having X Ray and blood tests and lots of attention. Only scan holding me up as not done over weekends. Tomorrow hopefully xxSheila ππβπ€
Iβm so glad youβre being looked after well, Sheila, and that the other tests are being carried out. Thatβs a relief to hear that, and I hope itβs all leading to a diagnosis and more help for you xx π₯°

It's a bummer that hospitals virtually shut down from fri- mon. I hope that you are feeling less panicked now that you are where they can see and hppefully manage your symptoms until you get the scan.xxx
That is simply not true. A friend of mine is having gallbladder removed this Saturday. It was meant to be Friday but strike moved it to Saturday. Operations being carried out is not what most would call a virtual shutdown.
I have just spent 12 weeks in hospital and can tell you that in the large teaching hospital that I was in it WAS a virtual shutdown from fri eve to mon morning as far as routine tests and procedures were concerned. The particular circumstances of the doctors' strike obviously caused the managers at your friend's hospital to move procedures. A good move. I hope that your friend's op is successful.
@@@Oh I am sorry to hear about your experience and hope you are recovering. Garshe seemed to be getting all tests at weekend other than a scan. It seems that activity varies depending on which hospital you are in. Thanks for best wishes for my friend. Take care. β€οΈ
I didn't want to mention heart because you were scared enough but your symptoms are exactly what mine were when I was hospitalised in June and July. Mild heart failure and erratic heartbeat (AF) all under control with medication. Good luck.
Thanks xxSheila πβππ
Weekends are a pain in hospitals - Nothing gets done until Monday. Hope you get all your answers and treatment very soon.
πππxxxx
Your message has only just come through to me. Sounds as though you're being well looked after, actually, and thank goodness, Sheila! Realised you'd encounter the "weekend syndrome" in hospitals but didn't want to say so at the time. All down to Government underfunding of NHS, sorry to say. Sounds as though you're well on the way to getting sorted, and looks as though scan now imminent. Thinking of you and sending love. πΊπΊπΊ xxx
I hope the scan goes well today, Sheila and the medics are able to get things sorted out for you. Thinking of you x
Gentle hugs Garshe Thinking of you.Hope you get your scans and a plan of action re care put in place.
Despite the scan delay, you're in the best place. No doubt you're hooked up to a monitor which will alert the nursing staff right away if anything goes awry and that in itself can be reassuring in my experience.
So rest (haha! Who gets chance to rest in hospital?) and wait for your scan which will hopefully give them a better idea of what's going on.
We're all thinking of you and wishing you well. Just think, if they crack this today you could be out shopping again by the end of the week.
Watch out, Cardiff, when you get dolled upagain in your lovely outfit and fancy boots!
Xx Moy
All the best for your scan today xx
Hopefully you will get answers soon now & be on the road to getting a diagnosis & sorted out, fingers crossed π€π» for you that they sort you out & can be discharged soon xx ππΉ
Good morning garshe. I hope at least you are feeling better. And you're breathing is better as well and you get home soon. Brian
Wishing you good luck. Hope things go positively I know what it's like so thinking of you
Ho Sheila,
Pleased you are getting good care and hope all goes well with the scans then they can bring on any treatment sooner rather than later for you.
Sending love and healing.
Pauline
So glad they have identified the problem Sheila and did wonder about your heart as it was the same symptoms my Mum had. Your scan should show up the problem and hopefully you can start treatment and get back home to start planning your shopping trips. Take good care x
Hope all goes well for you.xx from (another Sheila!) How did you get your name? My dad named me after a racehorse ( Sheila's Cottage) that was running in a race the day I was born.
My 5yr old cousin Sheila unfortunately died 2 weeks before I was born.Names were put in a hat and when opened later noticed My Aunt (Sheila's) Mum had put the name Sheila in the hat. I was always her favourite niece.
.she lost her daughter at 5. Her Husband at 38 ,her son at 44 and her grandson at 43. Tragic she was born on Friday 13th
She lived until 87.

Hi Sheila, it can be boring in hospital so I'm hoping you've got some interesting bed mates to chat to and nurses. I enjoyed my stay, a couple of years ago now, as I didn't have to wash up for a week, that being my job at home. I don't cook, my youngest son was brought up on pot noodle's π€£. He's now 30 and 6'4" so they didn't do that much harm! My hubby is our chef but he's also a feeder, he's wondering why our little dog is getting fat π. Only joking. I hope they get you sorted soon, I could chat all day, sending hugs π€ xxLove Lesley xxx
Hope they get to the root of your problems soon. Xx
fingers xβd Garshe
Hi Garshe. So sorry to hear youβve been really poorly. Hopefully you are on the mend now. Another couple of days being waited on will do you good. Although after my last stay in hospital Iβve said I don't ever want to go again. I hope your stay has been better than what I had. Xx
Hope you have had your scan - good luck!
I got to the hospital π₯ 3 days ago and I got a CT-Scan without/with Iodine on Saturday and a BRONCHOSCOPY with multiple alveolar wash π§Ό on Sunday.
76 years old with two cancers (ZMN-H and Prostate cancer)
I am sadly hospital π₯ customer since the last 3 years.π΅π
I can understand you rather be at home but you're in the right place to get you on road to recovery and also the scans and once you get results then they can help get you sorted and wishing you a speedy recovery
So sorry you are going through a difficult time. Hoping you get some answers soon as Iβm sure the waiting is hard. Sending prayers for healing and comfort. Angie
