Tiredness and muscle soreness with Bronchiectasis

Hello. I have Asthma and Bronchiectasis. I saw my consultant today and explained that sometimes I get "flares " where its hard to breathe and my body gets very tired and achy, usually if I do something extra like cutting the grass. She told me this was not normal? I thought this was just part of the disease. Does anyone else have this or know of this? I have been tested for auto immune diseases. Thank you.

I get the tiredness and achiness after exertion ( grass cutting is a pain), but not so much the breathlessness. I feel well enough to be active one day. The next day I pay for it. The worst breathing problems seem, so far, to be triggered by other things. These lung problems affect us all differently.

I am never sure if the fatigue I suffer is from the rheumatoid arthritis or bronchiectasis, as i never get much sleep that just adds to the problem. It is something I have learned to live with x

I get the tiredness, and breathlessness, but not so much general muscle aches as chest ache. I would swear my lungs were hurting, but apparently that’s not possible?????It’s one of the questions I’ve asked to be considered at the ELF bronchiectasis question event on 30th June. Let’s hope they can give some sort of explanation. If your consultant said it wasn’t “normal “ did they suggest anything? Hope you find some relief soon.

I have muscle fatigue and aches but the consultant I spoke to said it was to be expected! It would seem there are as many opinions as there are doctors!

Yes anything that requires any effort makes me very breathless and I can only do them for a very short while and somethings I just can't do at all anymore. Wish I could give you some advice but I don't know of any tips to help. Sorry and take care xxx
