Kidney failure?

Hello, I have traction bronchiectasis and I am really worried everytime I take antibiotics when i have my exacerbation because it feels that my kidney is affected. I have already my maintenance which is called dilatair (bronchodilator). I am taking it twice a day morning and evening. Btw I am only 25 years old female. 😊 Thank you for any tips. God bless us always. ❤️

Hello iamgg. May I ask why you think your kidneys are compromised taking the antibiotics? Do you have any symptoms? Have you had issues with your kidneys before? Sorry for the multiple questions. Best wishes to you. xx 🌷

This is a question which only a doctor could answer. I hope your kidneys are OK.

Hi, from very limited research, the fact that you have traction bronchiectasis means that your kidneys can be affected. Perhaps the antibio is having an adverse effect and you should talk to your doctor. My wife was recently prescribed a new inhaler for her bronch but after only 2 days of feeling dreadful, called the consultant who said stop. All drugs carry the risk of side effects which may or may not affect you, but not someone else. Hope your doctor is able to give you the answer/reassurance that you need. Have a good day, Chris.

hi and welcome .

I googled Dilatair as I had never heard of it before ….is it a tablet .

My youngest daughter used to take theophylline as a tablet, but later changed to an inhaler .

I see you are from the Philippines , I don’t know how the medical system works there …is it insurance based ?

I see you passed your teaching exams , but your chest problems have affected your career .

Please go back to your health professional ….can you be sent to someone who specialises in bronchiectasis
