I understood that during the last rotating blackouts (many years ago) the Ice cream vans somehow provided power to the few people at home with home based dialysis machines.

Haha, in Glasgow they’d have been providing the illegal drugs too! The ice cream wars are famous.

This concerns me greatly for my mother. Will they just cut off electricity indiscriminately? She's very frail.

I believe all the utility companies have a priority list Cas, I joined mine - E-on - online. Is there anyone near your ma who could ensure the companies she's with know she's vulnerable? P ×××

I understand that if there are planned cuts all those on the at risk register will be notified in advance and if machinery is involved emergency generators should be provided. However there is bound to be some time factor involved.

I'm with EDF and I am on their list.

Very scary for so many people. British gas out of order showing complete lack of compassion. They must be made to think again. Thanks for sharing.

I have a weird viewpoint - although I am frail and at risk I dont want to be put on a official register. But I do have the luxury of not requiring electical equipment to survive

if you’re frail, you need to stay warm

I need to get on this register for medical equipment and refrigerated medication but my supplier has a downloadable form which you can’t actually complete online. Will have to phone them
