Not taken this particular medication but my husband has been on ramipril for years with no issues.

My husband has been on it for a few months and hasn’t suffered any side effects.

My GP prescribed ramipril to reduce my high blood pressure. It was one of several hypertensive tablets he gave me to try that I had to stop taking because of side effects. If I remember aright, this one made my migraines return, because it widens blood vessels.

I think the lightheadedness side effect is only caused if the tablet works too well and reduces your blood pressure too much.

Thank you, I am on Amlodipine for 8 years and my gp said they are controlling my bp very well but it was the hospital who have prescribed this nrw tablet and it says one of side effects could be vertigo. I suffer from this and I actually do not want vertigo returning😫😫

I was prescribed Rampiril for HBP many years ago but after a couple of weeks I developed a nagging cough which I was told was just one of the side effects. I was taken off it, told to lose weight and have not been prescribed any medication since.

That's great! Yes I coukdn't understand why doctor in hospital prescribed this to me particularly when my gp did a 24hr bp monitor in me a few months ago and he was very happy with the medication I was on. I will not take it because dizziness and vertigo are side effects which I have suffered from in the past and I don't ever want to have them again😫😫

Please confirm with your healthcare provider though. That was only my experience. x

If ramipril makes you feel dizzy when you stand up, try getting up very slowly or stay sitting down until you feel better. If you begin to feel dizzy, lie down so that you do not faint, then sit until you feel better. Do not drive, ride a bike or use tools or machinery until the dizziness passes.

Was on Ramipril and Amlodipine for years (high BP) taken off the Ramipril on last hospital admission as BP now too low. GP has me monitoring my BP at home, so can take the Ramipril again if BP goes up again.
