Going private

Hi guys thanks for the support and patience with my posts, I've decided to go private and see a pulmonary doctor have a C.T scan have another spirometry at the end of the day my anxiety and fear is not knowing, my doctors keeps saying to me because I have anxiety that we do not want to put you for more test as it fuels anxiety I have to say its not knowing makes my anxiety worse I would rather know the full picture of a C T scan and speak to a pulmonary doctor who knows more about lungs than a gp does all I've done in the last 3 years is waste my life away worrying, googling, and ringing the blf nurses up every other day and yes that must be really annoying for them as they know exactly who it is when I phone its sounds funny but its actually very sad at least I will pay to have this private exam then one way I would know maybe how bad it is and I get more educated at the same time

I completely get it. I did the same and sadly would recommend anyone who can, pay to see a consultant. For the £175 I paid, the peace of mind, the expert knowledge and instructions to my GP were well worth it. To sit down with an expert and have their full undivided attention, explanations and reassurance changed everything. My meds were changed and my breathing and anxiety around my breathing are much more under control.

I too have to have answers for everything and this helped massively

Your doing the right thing. Many time I’ve had to go private, I have COPD . Think that’s what kept me alive and I’ve no support from anyone. It’s not not fair but some of us don’t have a choice.

Good for you Bryan, better to know and deal with than worry not knowing, it may settle your anxiety to have all the information going forward and I really wish you all the best x

Sounds like a good idea to me Bryan. You are quite right when you say not knowing causes a lot of anxiety.

I went private, i wasn't at all impressed, I told him sometimes i have pain in the lungs his reply was we don't always have the answers to pain ,he kept looking at his watch ,ok it was 7pm his only interest was am i paying by card or cash ,when I saw my own doctor he said i timed it badly having him with that he laugh, anyway I learned later he ran off with a doctor to India. That was my own personal experience.
