last month I had a third vaccination, I require another which will be a" Booster"this is due to a severely weakened immune system. Confused as to when this is due, 8 weeks or 6 months, letter mentioned 8 weeks walk in clinic 6 months.

As far as I know, the booster will be 6 months after your 3rd vaccine. I think that you will be notified again by the NHS when it's due.

I was told 2mths after 3rd vac by my lung consultant

So the 8 weeks could be right. There still seems to be a lack of clear guidance for those needing to know.

Yes, I believe its 8 weeks or 2 months for the booster after a 3rd vaccination. Stands to reason really as its for the immunosupressed who need the antibodies.

To be clear & save confusion for others kenbren you've had the 3rd vaccination so the next will be the booster (rather than a 4th vaccination)! P

Thank you, yes it will be the booster, the consensus seems to be 8 weeks.

Many thanks to all who responded.

Bless you there seems to be a lot of confusion even among medical staff about this.I had the same letter but have been unable to access this 3 Rd primary covid jab

I contacted our surgery to be told by the receptionist "yes we were told about that yesterday but can't remember what was said".

I would assume that you will get a further letter about this.

As for me I am going to a vaccination centre and sitting there until someone somewhere can advice me as an immunosuppressed person how I access this.

The first roll out was awesome but this seems to be chaotic .

Indeed confusion, a letter may arrive but I will go to the walk in Clinic where I had my third vaccination when 8 weeks have elapsed, the consensus seems to be on the side of 8 weeks.Thank you all for responding.

Take your letter to the surgery, that's what we did in the end after fruitless phone calls. The receptionist thanked us for teaching them something new! I am now waiting for my appointment for home visit for for 3rd primary covid and flu

Bless you have done that in a letter to gp.A receptionist then telephoned to say they were informed of this but she couldn't remember what was said.

Hubby is going for his booster today and will take the letter with him and ask -surely they will know!

Quick update Maggie .Hubby went for his covid booster today -my appointment for 3 Rd primary jab was sorted in less than 5 mins having spent 3 weeks going around in circles between hospital ,GP and Coventry and Warwickshire health authority... This rollout for immunosuppressed folk in our area has been a total shambles....

My friend has rheumatoid arthritis and was told her booster would be due 6 months after the 3rd vaccine.

I too have rheumatoid but was told I dont need a third vaccine just the booster, I have had a text saying go for your booster but nowhere has any free appointments yet. Makes me wonder which one I should have?

I think it depends on which meds you take

It does depend on meds, I’m just waiting for my GP to contact me with appointment for 3rd jab
