Thank you for the update. I'm glad that your husband is doing ok and that you have at last been able to speak to a nurse. I'm glad too that being part of the forum helped you through the day yesterday. It's a wonderful place for that as I know from my own experience.
So pleased you managed to speak to someone about your dear husband and heโs doing ok. Weโre here for you. Sending love and hugs ๐๐ฅฐ๐คxxxx
I really hope your husband will improve and is able to come home back to you soon! But also, despite the seriousness of this situation, allow yourself either to rest or do the things you were unable to accomplish! Believe it or not there's always a reason why things are happening! Will pray ๐โค๏ธ
Yes , youโre right snowdrops when youโre living with or with someone who suffers from a serious illness these things are unpleasant but not unexpected, unfortunately this incident was made so much worse than expected due to the lack of communication but thankfully things are much better today . Iโm very lucky in that I have two dogs I adore to care for ,family not too far away ,good neighbours and the fantastic support of people on this forum . Thank you so much for your prayers they are really appreciated xx
We all need others for mental support! Caring for loved ones is consuming and often challenging!
My nephew cares for my 66 year old sister in Germany! She suffered a spinal injury and due to medical negligence with 1 operation her condition worsened, now she is bedridden! She was a nurse and being ripped out of life like this was extremely hard for her! But she's a fighter! Next week she has an operation for her plasma pump device which releases Baclofen when she is experiencing nerv spasms! These are extremely painful!
She is going into hospital next Monday and her operation is on Tuesday! She'll be in hospital at least for a week to recover!
I so pray my sister will get through this one as she had to be resuscitated in previous operations! I stay in touch with her regular by phone and emails! ๐โค๏ธ๐
But I find this community uplifting myself, as it's good to find answers or questions asked on here! And support for each other!๐
Very best wishes to your poor sister Snowdrops-17. Sending prayers too. ๐ฆ
That must be so distressing for all of you snowdrops ๐ข but as you told me things happen for a reason so letโs stay positive and hope this next procedure gives her a better quality of life ๐ I think the reason this may have happened to Geoff is that the doctor who saw him this morning has given him a thorough examination and is even tackling relatively minor problems no one has been interested in , he is even going to get someone to look at a ganglion on Geoffs wrist while he is in there ! - every cloudโฆ ๐ I will keep you and your family in my prayers and please let us know how it goes next week xxx
I'm so pleased to read that your husband is getting a thorough MOT while he's there. Yesterday must have been awful for you, but to find out today that he's being properly cared for must be a huge relief. I wish him all the best and hope the doctor is as good as his word. Hugs to you too ((((( โค๏ธ )))))
I will darling, thank you so much! This is great that Geoff has more medical care now! Doctors interested in people's well being and act upon that, that's what we need....! Concerning my sister this device is under her stomach wall attached to a catheter going up along her spine! If nerv spasms occur the pain killer is then released to ease her pain! But 2007 consultant made a mistake and catheter looked like a serpentine and wrong size of the pump as well! Severe contractions set in regular so they severed some ligaments in her legs so they could straighten again!
Before 2007 she was fine, getting out of bed with a hoist into her wheelchair! Her accident was Nov 2001 and I am sad things went so wrong for her after 2007!
Life handle with care! Christiane โค๏ธ
Omg! The poor woman , that procedure sounds horrendous even when it goes well let alone when things go wrong ! This site has been a Godsend to me and often has me smiling or even roaring laughing but it sometimes opens my eyes to the immense suffering endured by other people ๐ข๐ข something I can only imagine . It must be incredibly difficult to stay positive when you have suffered so much but I hope your sister is a strong lady (she sounds like she is ) and comes through the operation safe ,well and better for having it done . Sending hugs to you too Snowdrops , I lost my sister to cancer twenty years ago , I know how hard it is to watch a sibling suffering xxx
Thank you for your empathy! You only really realize how many people are ill with various health problems, when you on these forums here! Do wish we had a forum for spinal injuries, especially for paralysed men and women! By the way, yes, my sister is a strong lady! ๐ฆพ
Send our love to your hubby please and tell him to get better soon! ๐๐๐๐ Lots of love Christiane

Great to hear he is doing okay. Now you can relax a bit and have a bit of me time.
Smashing news. As the song goes, we have to "Ac-cent-u-ate the positive!" (Eliminate the negative etc).
Good news. Hope he makes a good recovery and is back home with you soon.
When I was in hospital April 2020 with Covid pneumonia, the PAL's people phoned my husbnd every day with an update. Glad your OH is doing better
