Today starts a busy week! After my short hospital stay in February this week is follow up week as promised. Today I have to go and have a Covid-19 test, then self isolate until I go to the consultant appointment on Thursday, which is going to be a bit of a marathon as I have the 6mwt first, then lung function tests,, and then the consultant. I have never met this chap before, my previous consultant has taken a position elsewhere so it is already a bit nerve wracking! Then I have to report back to my GP and hospice nurse, also I am pleased to say my respiratory nurse is visiting on Friday afternoon . I haven’t seen her for nearly 18 months as she has been shielding too. I am very glad that she is able to come at last. On Saturday I shall probably collapse in an exhausted heap!
We are keeping a close eye on the weather as the old Severn bridge will be closed if we get the forecast storm and we shall have to go the long way by the new bridge.

Wow... That’s quite a marathon. How interesting to have a new consultant. But I do see that it’s scary. I would be. Please tell us how it all goes.I will be thinking of you with your ribcage full of Zebras.
That’s the first bit over, COVID-19 test done. If I don’t hear anything it is negative, which is what I expected. We got there early, I’ve never been invited to an appointment in a tent before, nobody else there so it was done immediately. Filthy weather but the bridge was still open, although it might be shut soon as the wind is definitely increasing. Now I have to isolate until Thursday , which won’t be difficult, as we have had plenty of practice. All the zebras are getting quite excited about having a new companion! I appreciate everyone’s good wishes. All the best, and keep out of this miserable 🥶 May weather xx
Thank you, yes I hope I can get some rest in too, but it shouldn’t be too difficult as I have to stay in and isolate. Miserable night here, and the Severn bridge is now closed!
Hospital visits are exhausting. The stress that you don’t even realise you’re feeling adds to the tiredness. Good luck on Thursday, take something with you to divert you between the “bits”, a crossword or a magazine maybe.
