Does anyone know how to get a diet sheet by post? It's not for me,its for my sister-in-law. She's not on line so needs to be posted to her.
Just a thought, maybe the BLF Helpline can help you to find this information and where to go for it. I think the dieticians in general work from the hospitals alongside the different consultants offices. Hop e this helps .
Thanks for the reply. The hospital told her to contact her doctor which she did & they told her they didn't have a dietician there. She's asked the district nurse but she said the same. The hospital told her they could book her on a course but as she's just been diagnosed with cancer she's not fit to go anywhere. I thought I could get one posted to her somehow but from where I don't know. I can't print one off for her as I don't have a printer.🤔
With my daughter admittedly some time ago, and myself two years ago the dieticians would come into the ward from their department, have a chat, make suggestions and as you say, hand us diet sheets. I'm gobsmacked to be honest and don't know what else to suggest. Maybe try the helpline number tomorrow and perhaps someone else on here might be able to help. Have you tried googling for information?
Every health authority (NHS Trust) employs dieticians. Although they are not employed by GPs, her GP ought to be able to refer her to the department in her area. May I ask what diet has been recommended and by whom? If a health professional has recommended a particular diet, they ought to be able to provide a relevant diet sheet.
If you private message me the link for the diet sheets she needs and let me have your address, I will happily print off what you need and post it to you. xx Moy
If she phones Macmillan Cancer Support they can send her their fantastic recipe book for people living with cancer. It’s free and has lots of tasty nutritious meals in it.😋

As Weecuppatea suggests, I am sure they will be only to happy to help. (if based in UK)
Strange, its usually the practice nurses who supply print outs from the computer. Also local councils usually have some sort of diet site that can supply them also its part of the healthy living for keeping people well. Good luck with getting one I can print off if you know what diet and an address to send to. But that has been offered by MoyB already. Maybe BLF helpline might have one to post to you or your family.
As I also have kidney problems I googled renal diets and am working with them ( what I should and shouldn't eat) . I ran it past my consultant and he approved it.
Also visit the British Dietetic Association Food Facts pages and print off the appropriate ones to send her: bda.uk.com/food-health/food...
