I recently saw the article where advisor tells the public sector members more on Blue badge applicant rights.
Apparently, he said the applicant does not have to be a driver to be able submit their claim evidenced by proof of their disability. It could be a passenger!
Is anyone having a go on placement a claim?
Stay well&sound 🤗

My mother as a blue badge she can no longer drive but when her son's daughter etc take her shopping ( not that as happened for a while) or doctors it proves very useful. My wife as one and in happier covid free times she would go shopping with friends and use it in her friends car.
That’s correct you don’t need to be a driver or hold a driving license to apply for a blue badge. It doesn’t change the application criteria, good back up evidence from a consultant is recommended to support a claim. My partner has had a blue badge for 17 years but at her last renewal it was rejected as the supporting evidence was signed by a GP. Problem was soon solve when my partner was able to explain that the GP in question was a consultant who had opted to work as a GP.
I have a blue badge and it is invaluable to me. I do drive but I take it out of my car if going somewhere in friends car so still use it.Of course this was all pre Covid......😏
My mum doesn’t drive but has Parkinson’s disease and a blue badge. It’s worth it’s weight in gold to her! She’d really struggle to get out anywhere without it.
My mum never drove, but i applied for a blue badge for her and had no problems in getting it. My mum has since passed away, and i now have my own blue badge
