Hi thamesbob, you can wear a mask if possible and gloves. You can also antibac the plastic covering if you wish.
Are you able to leave the mattress on the bed to air for a little while? Maybe open the bedroom window.
I’m sure all will be fine. Xxx
As stated on the companies website you have purchased from.

Thanks for posting the link for this firm. I have spent all day trying to find us a mattress but unfortunately, the one we would like has 8-10 weeks delivery. I don't want to commit money to something with that kind of waiting time, given all the uncertainties of COVID, Brexit and all the other variables. However, now that I know the firm exists, I will keep looking as it sounds as though they do everything we would need them to do i.e. take away the old mattress and put the new one onto the bed. So many of the other firms will only deliver to the door - not much good unless we want to sleep in the porch! Haha! Thanks again. xx Moy
