Has anybody had good results from taking Moxifloxacin 400mg tablets. Reading all the things that they can cause is making me scared to start using them?

Moxifloxacin?
Reading the possible side effects of a new proscription can be a frightening experience, that's why I wrote the following:
I’ve taken them twice. The potential side effects are very serious and I was very nervous particularly since the “spontaneous tendon rupture” can happen long after you’ve stopped taking them. I would risk them again however because they certainly did the trick. I did do some background reading at the time and it seems that if you’re concurrently taking steroids the risk of tendon problems is higher. Not an easy decision.
Thank you this is certainly reassuring. I am currently waiting for my GP to phone me to see if I can leave off taking the Prednisolone tablets as I would feel somewhat safer
Let me know how you get on please. Real people’s experience is always useful to hear.
The result I got was that I was told not to take theMonifloxacin as I was so unsure of it and I was prescribed Clarithromycin 500mg instead but do not feel any re-assured as I now have to stop taking my statins for a week which is fine, but there is a warning on the box that they do not react well with Amlodipine which I take for High BP but nothing about whether I should stop taking them, and the same for Omeprazole so again I have been unable to start the course as yet as I need to speak to the Chemist in the morning first. In the meantime I still feel really unwell and not really helped at all
Just happened to be on my email there and saw your comment. At the risk of sounding like a druggie, clarithromycin also works well. Because I’ve had so many infections over the last few years I think I’ve had most of the usual antibiotics and for me they all worked, until they didn’t. The only side effect with Clarithromycin that I can remember is a horrible taste in my mouth but it’s liveable with. I think it’s dreadful that, when they are prescribing, doctors don’t look at what else you’re taking and possible interactions.
