similar to carbocisteine prescribed by the doc.

NAC is N-Acetyl Cysteine

Whatever works is great :)

Did look at this but presume I can't take it as I'm on carbocisteine already? Still struggling with mucous so looking for an add on to other meds which might help. If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate hearing them

Montelukast is generally prescribed for excessive mucous with asthma, though I found it made me very tired. But many on the Asthma forum swear by it, so might be worth a try (prescription only, I’m afraid).

I’ve been using NAC 600s for a couple of years now twice a day . It works for me and I’ve had less flare ups since taking it.

Do you take Carbocysteine as well Chris?

No I take it instead of carbocysteine as I prefer to take more natural products if I can that do instead. I felt I have enough px drugs so take supplements to replace them when I can I.e for cholesterol etc.

I do use a lung exerciser / plastic device with balls in that I got from Amazon once a day which I think also brings mucus up. Cx

Hi I have been on nacsys 600mg for 3 weeks now after 6yrs on carbocysteine 3 times a day and its given me back the freedom to go out and not have a big dip of tiredness in the middle of the day anymore. So a win win for me with a good clearance with bronchiectasis only in the morning.
