TUBERCULOSIS SCARRING

Hi there,

I have been diagnosed with pulmonary TB. My doctor said I have a cavity in my lung due to the bacteria affecting the lung and burrowing. I don’t know if anyone has ever had the same issue as me. My cavity will cause life long scarring which may be susceptible to infection/fungal infection. I was told by my doctor to think of it like a scar on your hand which heals but stays long term. Instead this is in my lung. I found it hard to accept at first. Has anyone experienced this or have they got scarring?

Thanks
