My first time to try to attach a photo, having just stood in the rain outside so fresh and cool. Made me forget my worries for a few valuable moments.

Take care all

They’re lovely Sops!!!!

I don’t know about you guys, but our flowers are looking better at the moment than what they did in the summer! Think it was so hot for them!

Yes i agree, have several fuscjias in another part of my garden and they look splendid now, were rather straggly in earlier weeks.

Looking good, Sops. I like your paved area and it really sets your pots off. Hopefully you will have flowers to enjoy until they frost comes. The rose looks lovely too. What is the large shrub in the background with the pale green/grey leaves?

Sops in reply toCDPO16

Hi, I admit i don't know. It is huge and feathery.? Will e -mail my gardening friend who is the fount of all, ,and get back to you.

My garden is a fair size, and i have made it into different areas, i have lived here for 37 years, and acquired a strip of garden back when new neighbours noticed the boundary was sited incorrectly. That tree was half in their garden so they chopped their section down, do not like trees,,, and i thought mine would die but it flourished as you can see. I cut part of it to make an umbrella for when i use my barbecue, and have shade- loving plants underneath.

That’s a lovely picture. Thank you for sharing. I can see how it would take away your worries for a while 😊

Thank. You

gardening for flowers and vegetables kept me occupied through shielding I feel much better when breathing outside, and can practice my singing with only the birds to criticise, clearly not going to perform anywhere in 2020..

Nice photo....rain is so needed for lots of our gardens in the south. I used to love standing in the rain, not so much now 🤣

Sops profile image
Sops in reply toSuzie42

I live on the edge of the Cotswolds, its high and we have cold winds although the sun shines a lot . i have not had much rain this summer, and today is warm and sunny so i am out planting bulbs.

Take care,Sopsx

Lovely part if the country by the way x

Yes I like it. My son lives in Cardiff, and my daughter is a milliner 12 miles from my house.

Sopsx

Suzie42 profile image
Suzie42 in reply toSops

Wow how unusual to be a milliner , does she make them for you? x

Sops profile image
Sops in reply toSuzie42

She is a couture milliner and very skilled, trains in Paris, she was invited to the royal enclosure at Ascot last year, and I was to attend a rather nice wedding in Hampstead, so we bought a dress between us and she made a beautiful hat which we both wore. It worked well both in looks and purse!

The wedding trade are all self employed and have not been funded soI am unsure how long she can continue. We will have to wait and see. She was on instagram all last week doing a series of talks about life as a milliner and has a blog.

That's sounds wonderful. I hope that all these small businesses will all pick up again soon, but it all looks so gloomy.

You must be very proud of her. Would have loved to have seen the hat.

Take care x

Sops in reply toSuzie42

Input Lucy Bowler milliner and when the site opens it is the first hat that you see, pale pink with flowers. We bought a Bombshell ( my favourite site) pink silk retro shirtwaister dress, our handbag was from Lucys collection but unfortunately she has bigger feet than me !

Suzie42 in reply toSops

Stunning.....is that your daughter modelling the hats, she is stunning as well. Thank you for sharing with me x

Sops profile image
Sops in reply toSuzie42

No that is a model that Lucy employs, she also used uses a dishy Italian photographer who took that shot. Lucy is older and often does model her hats..

We are very alike and my friend was telling me this morning that she listened to Lucy’s Instagram blog whilst cooking and thought it was me.

She is really kind and works so hard to get the correct ‘look’, i remember one lady having a fab outfit and hat, but never wore makeup, Lucy drove to John Lewis and bought her a Chanel lipstick and mascara, and she loved it when Lucy applied, and has worn it ever since.

Glad you liked the hat, Sopsx

She sound amazing, you must be very proud of her. I looked through her website and she is indeed a very clever and takented girl x

Sops profile image
Sops in reply toSuzie42

That is so kind of you to say, she is very artistic and talented, and more than anything she is kind. I have always tried to install in my children manners and consideration for others and i am ver proud of the adults they have grown into

Lovely Garden ! I have been doing the same trying to hold on to the beauty of the Summer Garden , still got a hanging basket that hasn’t given up !!! X

Sops profile image
Sops in reply toBeachballs

Thank you. You have done so well to still have a hanging basket, I lost mine in the heat when it reached 34 degrees.probably killed with kindness ( and too much water).

You are lucky, I live on my own so its very hard work. When we bought our house my late husband declared that gardens were for sitting in with a gin and tonic, and he did not change his mind.

You have done really well and your garden is lovely ! Yes I know I am lucky and am very appreciative of his efforts, we have had a lovely Spring / Summer in the Garden and there is always work to do , but he loves to sit down at the end of the day with a Gin & Tonic in the Garden!!! Take care xx

I was a bit wobbly as the ladder was resting on the lawn, and i did think oops, no one would know if i fell off! But needs must,.. have just cleared my old veggie plants away , it is never a dull moment...

Take care and than you, sopsx
