Lung nodule advice please?

I've been told over the phone today (by my gp because I wanted to know my results)that one of my three lung nodules has grown from 6mm to 7mm since my first scan three months ago. I'm really worried, I phoned the respiratory secretaries to ask what happens next, to be abruptly told that the consultant will phone me at some point! He has only phoned me once since I was referred in March, never met me once.

What an awful response you had. Naturally you are worried. Hopefully someone who has had a similar report about their lung nodules, will be along soon to tell you a bit about their experience.

What a worry and I am ashamed that hospital colleagues were so abrupt with you.

Thankyou very much both of you, I have asked a nurse friend of mine to recommend a respiratory physician as she works closely with a variety of Consultants. I'm a nurse myself and can't believe the attitudes and lack of care I've experienced since December, it's been an eye-opener!

I had upper right nodule 8 yrs ago (most of these nodules are harmless ). The pulmonologist and surgeon both said I Had Lung Cancer so my upper right lobe was taken out (never given a biopsy). In Hosp a week and “ there was no cancer” .. I had a bacterial infection .. I would suggest a “good” pulmonologist who will probably wait and do a cat scan or pet scan .. please try not to worry.. by the way , I could have sued but never did .. Get very good references.. Bill
