Public Transport

So as we move forward, the powers of B, well England and Wales have decided that it’s compulsory that we wear 3ply masks, on public transport this again is discrimination against us who have breathing issues, I’ll stick to my car. I think that asthma U.K. and the British lung foundation need to raise this as a matter of urgency with the various health ministers in Westminster and the devolved assembly’s.

Me too, have a good evening and take care. Bernadettexx

Yes I heard about that earlier on.

I think if you are disabled you are exempt from wearing a mask but I'm not 100% sure on that one though.

Only in Wales from this report. By 3 layer are they saying Medical Masks? (said to be reserved for medical staff)

Three-layer face coverings will be mandatory on public transport in Wales from 27 July, the first minister has said.

As from 24th it’s mandatory in England in shops and supermarkets , and £100 fine , but there are exemptions . I think you can get an exemption badge but not sure .

Yes it is compulsory, no we don't have to wear them, obviously some shops public transport and others will ask for proof you can however download an exemption badge, I believe the BLF have one and possibly Gov.uk.

Hi Pilgrim. There is a small list who are exempt which includes people with respiratory problems. Personally, i’d try to avoid or reduce close contact with others as much as possible if I was unable to wear a mask. There are masks with an N95 protection rating that are easier to breath through than the regular surgical masks that sit directly over your mouth. Might be worth having a look at them when your not struggling. Good luck 😃

Hi Pilgrim87, I have asthma and bronchiectasis and do try face masks but do find it affects breathing. I want to wear one for me, so I have ordered some face shields instead.much better Maybe try these, no problem with breathing then but still protection.
