are you on oxygen?

For some time my finger oximeter readings on 5litres of oxygen have fallen from 97 when starting at rest to 84 when I walk a short way in the house (for instance to the toilet). I have had no trouble for 5 years i have been on oxygen but recently I think my lungs have got worse. I try very hard to ensure i am breathing in through my nose where the oxygen prongs go!, but as I am a natural mouth breather I often forget. I am trying to breath in through my nose and take a step, breath in again and take another step etc.

Does anyone have a tip please on how to ensure I always breath in through my nose, or do you use a gadget that helps? Any tips would be welcome. Thank you.

Respiratory nurse used to always said to make to keep your shoulders down but hard with me then she would always said if safe close eyes and breath in through the nose and out through the mouth nice and slow. And if toilet downstairs maybe ha e a fold up stool in nearby room just to relax and slow breathing down and if need same coming back. It's a case with me of doing things slowly

I am generally 97, I think if I went to 84 I would definitely ask to discuss with Doctor. In the meantime, if mine drops I do breathing exercises for 10 minutes a couple of times a day. I leave oximeter on and try to get it to rise as I breath. I hope it improves soon, speak to Dr, anxiety can make it worse. Good luck
