Recently became aware of pain in upper back - left of centre. No cough except occasionally in the morning. No sputum. I’ve had a dull pain for a good while but GP said Musculoskeletal. Now my Back aches when I breathe. Waiting on X-ray result from last Thursday. Very anxious and struggling to sleep.

Pain in upper back
It could be a number of conditions. I have had Costochondritis in that location. I have also had bursitis in my shoulder and the pain radiated in that area. It could be many things and sadly any answer you get online would be a best a guess.
Badbessie thanks for replying. It’s just hard to know what to do sometimes when you’re worrying. I know nobody can diagnose online and are people are not medical practitioners .., just on my own and worried.
Your GP as ruled out the more serious cardiac related problems. Your X-ray should eliminate more possible causes. Sadly medicine is often a matter of eliminating conditions until you get your answer. I can understand your frustration and worry. Over the last 2 years I have been diagnosed with 3 out of the 5 known pain syndromes and before diagnosis I was forever worrying about what my pains could be. It is only human to think the worst. Hopefully you will get your answer soon.
