I was having difficulty breathing from the 10 of January, a couple of days in it was hurting my lungs when I tried to get a deep breath, so I went to my doctor who told me I had a bout of pleurisy, so what is the likelihood of this actually being covid19?

Pleurisy diagnosis from doctor??
Good morning, it's not covid19,I believe if you have covid19, he would have definitely said something. Pleurisy is when the thin lining between your lungs and ribs becomes inflamed, it's quite painful when you try to take a deep breath, I had this 2 years ago and it can take a while to get better, paracetamol, or normal the doctor gives you something for the pain.
But can I ask why you didn't ask your doctor what pleurisy is?
Hope you getting better soon, but as I said it can take a while. Take care and stay safe.
I did ask what pleurisy was and I had pneumonia when I was 22, so never thought anything of it until people started dying with respiratory problems due to covid19, the symptoms sound too similar to me to be a coincidence??
If your illness started 10th January then I would say NO. This disease as spread fast but the first cluster was reported by China on the 31st December. To put it simply the vectors were not in place for you to catch it. The symptoms of this virus can also be the symptoms of many other conditions and some symptoms never appear at all. Until the antibody test is available no one will know unless they have been tested in hospital.
My story is identical to yours, "lung infections" from january, 3 sets of antibiotics 1 set of steroids. Xray last saturday with small fluid on my lungs, breathing issues, cough. Doctors diagnosed me with Pleurisy yesterday, Lungs feel like a balloon being blowned up in my hand when i breath. Their answer, the pleurisy was caused by bag chest infection or maybe COVID. Lungs feel horrible when i first wake up, He said i coukld be like this for another month, been struggling with pleusisy symptoms since march
