Hello darling1960 , π
I live in Japan and we are not in total lockdown, though we are told to limit our outings. It must be very difficult for you if you are totally on your own. Do you have anyone you could talk on the phone or FaceTime during the day? I see now that the big problem for people is getting food in. How are you managing with that? I try and keep myself busy. I have a little hobby that I haven't taken up since my operation but I'd like to take it up again. And my dog keeps me busy too.
Please don't think you are alone. There are many here in similar circumstances. And we all pull together to get through this difficult time. Please post often. You will find camaraderie and kind thoughts.
Best wishes to you,
Cas xx ππΌ
I got my radio on low. Sitting in the garden either on my tablet or reading a book. Then do some potting of plants before hubby brings something to eat .so relaxing know there are other things I can do but while the weather is good garden and relaxing seem to come first
It is hard to know. Having been stuck indoors for most of the winter I was very much looking forward to getting out and about again. Some things I do are free online jigsaw puzzles, card games and mahjong. They can help pass time on but result in me sitting too much at times.
I hope manage to find something to help you pass your time.
I got that one too. Bummer, isnt it. I've been neglecting my watercolour painting. I'd like to say I will also do some serious housework, but that's highly unlikely. Good luck with your lockdown. At least you can open a window! πππ
Hello and welcome π You can come here often because we're all here talking about all kinds of things π±ππ RoadRunner44 posted a link a while ago for free online courses which look really good. Maybe she can post it again if that's something you'd be interested in. I'm going to sign up to one if I ever manage to get home which is where my iPad is. I thought online courses meant lengthy degree courses but the one I was looking at is only a few weeks and a few hours each week.
Try Futurelearn they do some great courses and they have lots to choose from, the open University have some really short courses lasting about 12 weeks. Hope you find one, have a good day and take care of yourself π Bernadette xx
Hi and welcome we are all here for you so you need never feel alone. Post as often as you want we all like a good chat and a laugh. You will also find from others posts that there is a lot to keep you occupied. Have a lovely day and take care of yourself π Bernadette xx
Hi, darling1960 if you click my name and go to my wall/page whatever they call it I asked a question about what was good to watch there is a list of programs, so far I have cleaner a cupboard - anally straightened cans of food and washed some curtains.
I have been self isolating since last November, there are so many things todo, ancestory research is a good one, writing a book, gardening. Baking, buying and selling on ebay, you will wonder how ou had time to o out.
Weβre in this together darling1960 so chat on here, exercise in whatever way you can, crosswords, reading, cooking, baking if you can get flour. Go outside for a short while for exercise observing the 2 metres distancing .
Hope you can stay occupied. Xxx
Hi, Iβm also shielding, with severe copd. Iβm organising my days so far, with a half an hour online exercise class for over 50s, phoning at least two friends to catch up, cooking lunch, walking on my treadmill, reading, sorting out photos. Next plan is to sort out cupboards one by one. My husband keeps busy in the garden. Iβm going to lookup that website futurelearn, to see if something interests me. I must say Iβm getting used to the enforced incarceration, you get used to anything in time!
Stay well.
hi darling if you have a computer why not go on google earth and see the world its amazing the things it will lead you on to best of luck

Wecome to our group, just joining in on our site can pass time and we do discuss different things and updates on news ect. Plus as already said we can give you ideas for things to do. I can't get out so sitting in the garden is my option, but their are also things like being a penpal on line , games online, survey sites to give your opinions, download films ect. Some people do things like knitting, painting, crafts, sewing. I am spending time keeping in touch by phone with those I cannot meet at our weekly meeting group. I hate this no contact but don't want to get the virus either. Hope to speak to you again soon. Keep well & warm.
Hi has anyone had a letter of the gov to stay in. I haven't had any letter of text from anyone not even my doctors im COPD Severe and on Oxygen. I am self isolating please let me know Thanks x
I had a text yesterday at 20:09 from gov.uk to say New rules in force now, you must stay at home. This is a general text nothing to do with my medical condition, so will do as they say and stay at home. I havent had anything from my gp other than general, dont come into the surgery, can now order prescriptions by phone, that sort of thing, but I am classified as having mild bronchiectasis and rheumatoid arthritis. I am unable to get a delivery from any of the supermarkets and live alone so am having to shop , I have made it once per week and go to Tescos as they have a elderly shop Mon, Wed, Frid 9-10, I walk there and back as I dont feel the buses are safe enough from the virus and at least I am getting the exercise I need. Hope you are keeping ok x
Thank you for getting back to so it looks like nobody has had the letters the gov keep saying is going out to people of high rick. im not on my own but my partner has just finished radiotherphy for postrate cancer so we dont go out my daughter brings up shopping and leaves it on the door step. So stay safe its getting worse everyday xx
I have had the letter but I am on the very severe category. It is only those of us in that group that are getting the letter but everyone else should be following the stay at home guidelines
Sorry to hear about your partner gilder60 and hope he is recovering well. You are right to stay at home and keep away from everybody, they reckon the next 2 weeks are going to be tough, so glad you have your daughter near to help out. My daughter lives in Cardiff now so is difficult x
I had a letter IZb1, it doesn't specifically mention MY illnesses (same as yours) but goes through ALL the diseases. Although COPD and Asthma are mentioned, Bronch isn't!!!
Its all a bit confusing really but will just carry on with what I am doing and hope that I dont pick it up. Take care and keep safe x
I am in the same situation, I have severe bullous emphysema and have not had the letter, I have tried to register as vulnerable so that I can get online shopping slots but havenβt heard back. The GP surgery says that they are not involved in sending the letters out so I donβt know what is happening, I am isolating but canβt get shopping slots etc
I have bought an x box s and having a great time playing Forza. I'm getting on 71 and feel like a 12 year old.. hehe, yes I'm locked in but who cares, end stage copd can do that to you. I'm also in Canada, you're not alone!
This is an event the whole world is sharing. Take care and stay as healthy as you can.
Hi and welcome to the site darling 1960. There are still not enough hours in the day to do the things I want to do. Alot of the "jobs" in the house need doing but getting the enthusiasm is hard and I have slowed down quite a bit since having a shoulder op, so I try to do a couple of jobs first and then have an hour or so for me before I head to the kitchen to prep and cook dinner, I enjoy cooking so its not a chore. I spend an hour or two on my tablet. One of my friends downloaded a whole series of books onto a kindle for me, so i have an hour or two every night reading. I love art and never seem to have time to do it as there is always something else more important, like the garden. I really want to learn a language, so thats something else. I was going to join a knitting club but thats out if the window whilst this virus is around. You will find alot of ideas on here from our friendly group and alot to read including poems from our regular Don, poemsgalore and Lyd, some lovely pictures from Blackbird, lots going on x
Can't stand, or walk due to spinal fractures and damaged hips. So unable to cook. Can't get out to the back garden. For a sit in the sun. So I try and compose a new poem if I can
I'm sorry to learn that you are so incapacitated but keep those poems coming. I always appreciate your talent though I don't respond to let you know as much.
Oh thats hard for you poemsgalore, how do you manage, hope you dont mind me asking. Do you have a wheelchair that perhaps a carer could wheel you outside for a bit of sun. I must stop worrying and count my blessings. I do read your poems and they are all good, so keep posting. Take good care x
No I don't mind. It gives me the chance to have a little moan. π No carets, except my husband who is as bad asI am! It's surprising what you get used to if necessary. And with the situation everyone is in at the moment, we're no different to anyone else really. π
Can anyone answer this question. I have had brochiectasis for 20 years. It is worse now with postural drainage for 30 minutes three times a day. HOW LONG DO I ISOLATE FOR? 2 weeks, 3 weeks, 3 months or something else?
Play candy crush! It really helps me x
