Anyone remember this?

As teenage girls we used to sing these lines-

When I was single I used to powder puff,

But now I' m married I can't afford the stuff

Chorus - its a life, its a life its a weary, weary life

Its better to be single than to be a married wife.

When was single I used to ride the tram

But now I.'m married I have to push the pram

Its a life etc.

I saw a scottish version on line, not quite the same but very similar. Iris x

The scottish version included the verse - when I was single I used to comb my hair, but now I'm married I haven't the time to spare. No idea who wrote it Skis. Maybe it did say on google. Just a happy memory of us girls, arms linked, coming along the road singing and no doubt making a nuisance of ourselves! But, hey, we had just come through the war!
