I think you have found a like spirit in Dr John.

Will look later. Thanks.

Have you been to your hospital appointment yet? I have one coming up next week i am worried about.

I went a couple of weeks ago, but I will have a string of them to go to over the next three months, at least one being with the Respiratory Clinic. I am not looking forward to going to them, but I think it is a must do. Each appointment will entail bus travel of at least two hours. Crowds of people at the entrance to the hospital. Plus the fast breathing that comes with walking. I will have to asses the risks at the time.

Rather scary as with, possibly, more cancer then delaying any scans, tests, and treatment is risky too. Caught between a rock and a hard place is a very apt description of the situation. Currently waiting for appointment letters, I have one, to go back to Oncology in May.

Yes told to avoid crowds, and queue at reception does not help.

As to transport would you be happier with patient transport? Like blue badges difficult to get but our area uses hospital patient transport which i asked for next week . I cannot walk very far, time limiting, and had to answer lots of questions about my abilities. They provide transport mainly for cancer patients going to Christie everyday for treatment ,

. In my sisters area it is a voluntary service and you pay for mileage. She has to go 30 miles. Red Cross sometimes do transporrt too .

I do not know which is least of two evils now in view of escalating virus infections

. I have to go to Whythenshawe Respiratory Dept next week and watching and wondering whether to postpone is better. I am being treated already this is just a second opinion as i am not typical.

If your first is in May then you have a bit of time to think . Do investigate patient transport.

I tried to get hand the sanitisers from Lidl that you suggested and no stock there or anywhere else and some body called sunny on web site suggested Iso propanol from Amazon ., or computer repair shops, used for cleaning, This has required alcohol level. None availabl e anywhere but one bright person at Boots suggested surgical spirit . I was at that point asking for rubbing alcohol which was unknown so i am now the proud possessor of 100 ml at 95 % alcohol( methylated spirit +5% castor oil)to be put into spray bottle. Tough on hands but better than nothing. Havent googled any side effects from absorption through skin .

Best of luck with your appointments when you get them.

I hope that the methylated spirit +5% castor oil does not dry your skin too much and be prepared for a sharp sting if you have even the smallest of cuts on your hand (or if a nail biter)

The 15th May appointment will probably be the last one of the series of appointments. Today I learnt, from an internal letter between consultants, that I have a new inflammatory nodule in the top right lobe, which reinforces my suspicion of yet more cancer, which comes as no surprise. What a way to find out, in a letter that was not even directed at me, only told it was suspected inflammation. So including the treated one, I am now in possession of 13 of the blighters.

I doubt that I would qualify as despite the "extreme breathlessness" I can still walk a reasonable distance, although I have no idea what my sats are like now whilst walking a distance. The oximeter does not like the cold.

Sorry to hear that . We should always get copies of any letter. I have when i asked but not automatic whatever it says . I had an ECG feb 3 and cannot get a result consultant took letter down to secretary over a

week ago but not told result. Have phoned about 5 times but no good. This is Boris's wonderful NHS.

I’m taking a break from covid-19 as it’s all a bit much now. This Government is only now very slowly getting it’s act together regarding the seriousness of this disease.

Deep cleaning a school and then 2 days later sending the kids back in is pointless. Children are known carriers of disease so they need to be monitored for 2 weeks at least.

I’ll just focus on keeping Pete and myself safe and steer clear of virus items for now. It’s too worrying. Xxxxxx

I don't blame you, it is additional stress. Careful that you don't bury your head in the sand for good though, which will be hard given it is all over the TV and radio, newspapers et all.

Definitely no burying! Lol. Just having a day off. I like Dr. John though, he’s a good man. Xxxx

Dr john for all of his expertise and research into what is rapidly becoming a pandemic situation is not really telling us anything that with a simple amount of research we don't already know, the trouble is he does it in such a slow manner, never mind he is a thoroughly nice chap :)
