Hi

I had a ct scan just under 3 months ago which diagnosed emphysema and plural thickening, I asked why they need to rescan if the plural thickening is nothing to worry about ?

Gp dosnt know ? I'm awaiting a referral to chest clinic

Any ideas

Thanks

I would think that they are just being diligent, to see if there are any changes to the plural thickening over those 3 months. This monitoring, is quite a normal thing for them to do.

Did you have a contrast dye for this test? Agree that you are getting the quality of duty of care that not all of us get. I sympathise that this causes you worry it could get worse but the truth is it can and better to be safe than sorry.

I had aCT scan with no contrast as I am allergic to it to test for cancer spread which was negative, including my chest but no mention was made of anything else as , despite being diagnosed with COPD and Asthma, 2 normal chest x-rays showed nothing unusual.
