Printer toner linked to genetic changes, health risks in new study.

Getting printer toner on your hands is annoying. Getting it in your lungs may be dangerous.

According to a new study by West Virginia University researcher Nancy Lan Guo, the microscopic toner nanoparticles that waft from laser printers may change our genetic and metabolic profiles in ways that make disease more likely. Her findings appear in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences.

“The changes are very significant from day one,” said Guo, a professor in the School of Public Health and member of the Cancer Institute.

1998-2003 I was exposed to printer toner in a large office area and more so when l was moved within about 10-15 ft of the main office photocopier. Reading this article it highlights the possibility that as l was diagnosed with asthma in 1999 and subsequently diagnosed with EGPA in 2009 (after experiencing associated Vasculitis symptoms possibly for 2 or more years), l may be a classic example of toner lung contamination. It wasn’t until 2003 that the offending photocopier was installed in a separate room with the appropriate extraction system. This also applies to several other employees in the same area.

I wonder if there is a method of checking such contamination, even after many years?

Printing troubles with your color cartridge could be due to a couple of issues. First, check your printer settings on the file or picture your trying to print. If your page is setup to print in “grayscale” it will only print in black and white. Change the setting to “default” so it will print in color. If your settings look good from the start, the cartridge may just need to be primed. Most printers have a built in cleaning function that you can run to do this.

This article is about laser printer toner not ink jet cartridges. Laser printers are a totally different technology that are generally used in commercial settings, they are also mainly black and white for high speed document printing.

I've heard from many people that printers affect our body in some way, but I think if it's not close to you and your bedroom, it won't hurt you! But I use the printer almost every day and I don't even feel this effect. My friend gave me advice to look on this service where I could find a bunch of office supplies. These guys offer high-quality printers and cartridges at a good price and with free shipping. This service mrdepot.ca , you can find all printers from major companies. My mother was absolutely happy with the printer I bought her! If you want, you can check out this source for more information, bro! I wish you good luck!
