Hi ,well we finally saw a respiratory consultant today after 8 months of knowing there was a potential problem. It was quite stressful ,as we were panicked after hearing "asbestos disease" from my Husbands cardiologist. Thank you for all your information, support , wisdom ,and kindness.
Basically he was weighed and height measured , then went for the breath test, where you basically inhale and blow. This was difficult ,as the corridors were a bit of a treck . We then saw a consultant ,who took full work/lifestyle history . He suggested he needed a full blood test . There are about 10 items listed including avian, liver etc, if anyone wants the list I will post it. Next he will need more intensive breathing tests?, the consultant will meet with cardiac colleagues in 2 weeks to discuss treatments. +The consultant said he has fibrosis , and at this time he doesn't know what or how, I expect we will have results from the blood tests. Regarding appetite loss , he said take fortisip more regularly, and exercise is very much the order of the day , breathless or not …. The consultant also said the heart problem was a bigger issue than the lungs??.
So a huge thank you to you all , and hope that you are having a good day
