I see Kirk Douglas has just died, aged 103. Wonder what his last years were like? I will be 86 soon and things are getting harder all the time. My dad was luckier than my mum, he died first in his own bed, at the end, mum had a couple of years in a nursing home, becoming more and more dependent and confused, no fun in that. Its not the number of years we achieve, its the quality of those years, but we really don't get to choose. Love iris x
There is a lot we can do to maintain quantity Iris, and to stop worrying about the future and keep doing things are two. Has Sally been given a fresh supply of mushrooms yet? 😀xx
H Don, you have a good memory still! No, she has no more mushrooms, in fact she and her mates have all been taken off the spare bed and put in an old chest.!
My kind of poem Don, obviously we won't want the inevitable to happen. We do want you to stay forever, but whatever and whenever, you will always be her in our hearts forever.
Of course, what I’m saying is I don’t want to die in a hospital or hospice, good though they may well be. In fact I don’t want to die at all, but I understand that isn’t an option. 😉😘xx
Hello young man, lovely and heartfelt rhyme Don. I think we all think how peacefully we will eventually go . Did you and Midge get that trip in the camper?Cx
