Time Marches On.

The days they go so quickly

You hear us old ones moan

Yet time itself goes very slow

When we are on our own

What causes this phenomenon?

That brings this fact about?

It's no good you asking me

Cos I know absolutely nowt.

Brilliant as ever Don. Who does know owt? Not me any road.

I am sure I remember you saying a short time back

No more poems as you now found a lack

Of clarity and no more could you rhyme

You got over this and not before time!

Thank goodness you have returned to your rhyming ways

Now you can carry on brightening all our days!😁😁 xx

I can't stop Puss, I wrote that with my right hand nailed to the desk. 😉xx

The universe expand outwards as does time itself

That why us old gits feel left upon the shelf

Our pendulums are knackered and some have lost their bong

But all the time those hours just keep marching on and on and on :)

in reply to skischool

You are still quite young my friend

So I hope it won't be long

Before you get fully fit again

And and enjoy another bong 🙄

Don't start me on the bong

You know it is all wrong

That bloke Bris is a fool

And in fact not very cool

Big Ben has lost it's clapper

It's not looking very dapper

If we try to make it chime

It would be a bloody crime. :)

Good afternoon/evening to you Mr.D and i don't have any answers to your question- why does time pass so slowly, when we are on our own. Except i suspect it would almost grind to a halt if we didn't have the luxury of our pets. Time passes at different speeds during our lifespan don't you think. When i think back to when i had my first proper full time job at 17 yrs old, i can remember thinking how quick the weekends came around! Now, i have to think which day is it as they can almost merge into one!

Hey ho, mustn't grumble but try and be grateful. Good rhyme as ever.

It's a shame that time moves so much faster for our poor pets. 🙁

So true dear Don

Another day nearly gone

But don’t sit in sorrow

For it will soon be tomorrow

Although you’re on your own

You’re never quite alone

Here we are for you

We’ll always get you through.

Thank you Don, you’ve still got it. Xxx 😘💖💕

in reply to sassy59

Well you did a good job in getting me back on here. I've had to sharpen my pencil again. 😘xx

So glad you are back to form , but it is ok to take a few days off. I get hooked on routines. Eg completing enough online jigsaws to gain 100 points. It became a trial. I realised I could just do them for 50 points. Then i took a couple of days off. . Life became more enjoyable. So, do what you want to do. Now is the time of life to do that - but we do enjoy the ditties, the memories,

Lots of love xxx jo

Thanks Jo, you are so right, it's a bit like waiting for a bus. I wait for a rhyme to pop up and it looks like it's not going to happen again, then suddenly two or three appear at once.

I seemed to spend years waiting to hit 15 so I could leave school, then got to 25, and wondered why I had done nothing of importance in the mean time. Then life has just passed by, I agree weird, Time seems to go faster, now I am loosing friends.

in reply to SORRELHIPPO

The pace of life changes as we move along. I left school at fourteen and between then and eighteen when I was called-up life was slow and enjoyable. Eighteen to twenty very fast and not so enjoyable in the army. Slow again until I married then fast, faster then hectic until I'd made enough to retire on. From then on I seem to have maintained a comfortable speed until quite recently. 🙂

This is something I was talking about with my mum the other day. Time moves at different speeds depending on the time of day.

It also moves a lot slower when I'm on my own. 🐌 Time is just an artificial construct in order that not everything happens all at once. So I suppose therefore time doesn't always move at the same speed because it doesn't really exist as such. 🤔

To me it seems to travel it’s fastest during the period just before the time of an appointment, unless you are already in the waiting room when it slows right down. 🤔
