That’s the most important card. My mum is all but blind but she’s been using her magnifier and strong lamp to try to spot the Queen’s outfit. She’s a big royalist! When she and my dad received a card from her for their 60th anniversary, she was dressed smartly, I thought, in red. My mums first comment was ‘Oh! I’ve never liked the Queen in red!!’ Ha! 🤣 She’s not having much luck seeing her now but we’ve told her she’s dressed in mint green. She’s happy! 😃 xx

There was quite a bill for the three cakes! But it’s quite special being a hundred, reaching your three figures....the children are very impressed! It’s been the main driving force in her life for the last couple of years, to be the first in the family to get to a hundred. So she’s very pleased to have made it. 👑 🌹 🎖

And champagne, Carolina, she’s not one to pass on the bubbles! But we have limited her quantities of everything, you know, moderation in all things. Last year, after her 99th, she was quite poorly over night, so this year we were much more watchful with her diet. They say life turns a full circle, I think she’s back to being a young child now with regards to diet! She has enjoyed all the fuss though 🎉🥳👑

Something I've been wondering about is how did the Queen know it's your mum's birthday. Well not just your mum but anyone who reaches the age of 100.

Well, we’re allowed to apply on a form online to Buckingham Palace, no sooner than three weeks ahead, though with Christmas and new year hols, they let us get going five weeks ahead.

They then check with pensions people DWP, who rang me and asked a few questions. Wanted to actually visit her, but times I was available to be with her were not convenient for them....she’s still in her own home, I think they’re more used to visiting care homes. So all just went ahead. I gave them her doctor’s name in case they wanted proof she’s still alive, and we’ve not been snaffling her pension for years!! Don’t know whether they believe us still!! 😂☺️

Thanks. We tend to choose numeral cakes because there is some hope of her seeing them. Her sight is very poor now.
