WILLIE NELSON QUIT SMOKING MARIJUANA

If anyone read any of the posts regarding long lived people with emphysema. Willie Nelson was diagnosed at age 44, according to several media outlets and his interviews. He will be 87 in April, 2020, making him 86, today. He started smoking at age 9. He states he is quiting smoking marijuana to help his breathing, now. He quit smoking cigarettes many years ago .After, 42 years of diagnosed emphysema he is quiting smoking marijuana, but not touring and doing concerts!!

So, Willie is ...."On the Road Again"...and long may he be!!!

A couple of weeks ago at a Country Music awards show while singing a duet, it was painfully obvious that Willie could barely get a breath. He truly is a national treasure, and he truly does love "the road." I have lived my entire life only a couple of hours from Nashville (Music City). It is a beautiful town, epitomizes real southern gentility...J

Willie is a treasure. But, imagine any 86 year old doing a duet? I think they too, would most probably be breathless....at 86. It would be normal.

My 82 year old trumpeter still plays in the church band even though he's recently had lung reduction surgery to remove a cancer nodule this summer. He's playing at least 6 of the 14 carols in the Carol Service a week on Sunday. Amazing guy.

That's wonderful....I love hearing that. You must be really busy this season!! I so enjoy hearing caroller....a favorite thing of the holidays!!

Willie is amazing, but this was noticeable. It hurt to see him struggle. After a certain point in the song he was so breathless, he could not sing but continued to play his guitar. You may know...Willie has been hospitalized a few times these last months. We were surprised he was there to perform. He is the consummate entertainer. It is all about the music. He has given most of the fortune that he has made away to others in need. He is well-loved. J
