So sorry I can’t help you with advice but you have my sympathy and I hope you soon find an answer. I never ever complain at having to get up during the night (well not a lot) because I know how unpleasant it is not to be able pee properly. 🙁

An operation! Did you have a catheter fitted? I think that you should see a doctor urgently, you may have a bad infection. Urine retention is quite a serious matter, better safe than sorry.

I had a bladder op over 20yrs ago.

Outcome was very successful.

Had a catheter for a few days.

I have ever since found that if l strain to pee, nothing comes out.

I have to relax and shift about a bit on the loo. Then can go.

If you not peeing see a dr urgently.

Good luck... and speedy recovery.

Were you given advice about pelvic floor muscle exercises or using pads like Tena pads? Sounds like your follow-up care has been a bit poor.

Hi Levina, I had a laproscopic gall bladder removal in April and was checked the next morning to make sure everything was working properly. I didnt have a cather fitted, there was no need. I would phone the surgeons secretary and tell them your problem explaining that you need to see him urgently, or contact your gp, you cannot leave this as it could be serious. Good luck x

I agree with others that you need to get a check up asap to make sure this is normal. My sis had a bladder op 4 years ago and has been fine.
