I think it is a red admiral Celat and you don't often see them so you are very lucky indeed.

Yes, correct, the year before last we had a lot, last year hardly any, a few this year so, hopefully, they are coming back again.

Supposedly we are due an influx of butterflies this year above and beyond what we normally get,i do hope that comes to fruition as they are delightful creatures.
