Newbie - help/advice for my mum

Hello, my mum was diagnosed with COPD in November last year. Since this she has detoriated in health. We haven’t been given much information from the doctors or hospital. She has recently had a flare up which has lasted over 2 weeks now and is still ongoing. I’ve been trying to find out of anything I can do to help her or try and make her more comfortable to the constant issues with breathing. I would appreciate any ideas or advice that you may be able to give if/when anybody has time. Thank you.

Hi Hun & Welcome. So Sorry to Hear this about your Mum, Have you been given contact to your Local Respiratory Team? They are on call every day and can advise you over the Phone, They can also arrange a Home Visit, also Get in touch with BLF on this Forum, I don't have the Number at Hand, you can Click on "Active Steps" here on the Right hand side. Someone will see this and have the Number. Has she been given any Inhalers to Help. Tell her to Breathe in through her Nose and release slowly with pursed lips , just to help with the Breathing. I hope you can get Help Hun. Best wishes to you & Your Mum. xxxxx

Welcome Sar525, you’ve had some very good replies so hope they go someway towards helping your dear mum. It’s scary to see someone you love struggling to breathe.

I hope your mum gets all the help she needs and do stay in touch. Xxxx
