Clinical trial: I have COPD /Emphysema... - Lung Conditions C...
Clinical trial
Hi I have the same condition as you I went on the Celeb trials in Jan 2018 and I ended up having LVRS ( lung volume reduction surgery ) in October 2018 with great success .I'm doing well don't have to see my consultant for a year ,but I still have to have lung function tests every 3 months for their records. I believe they monitor you for 5 years .My trials have finished now i had them at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London and im sure if you get in touch they can tell you if there are any more trials being done .Good luck .

I wish you luck and although it's a hard journey if you are a fighter like me,I've always refused to let my condition rule my life , you will befine 4 weeks post op my surgeon was amazed at how well my recovery was and discharged me from his books after 3 months the Brompton are a fantastic hospital. Please be aware that you have to meet certain criteria for to have the big op of LVRS both physically and mentally . I'm almost 72 years old and feel honoured I was able to have the op .
Good luck in your journey. XX
