Backdrop of mountains with a huge church part way up one. Small has all you need, compact, flat, ideal for breathily challenged. I love it. No paddling today Midge old girl. π€·ββοΈ

Barmouth.
Love barmouth don, the beaches are always pristine there , bala is another favourite of mine
We stopped at Bala for breakfast then headed over the mountains towards Porthmadog. Lovely run and the weather was good then.
She looks a tad disappointed at the no paddling injunction . . .
Looks like a wonderful journey youβre all on Don. Enjoy! Xxxx
With all that strapping and the carabina Midge looks like she is ready for a bit of abseiling Master Po? I can smell the sea air from here. x
She could easily be airborne out there π
I'm loving traveling vicariously with you all π
Looks lovely Don. I hope that you're enjoying your adventure. πΎπΆ XXX
I last stayed in Barmouth when I was 13, 76 now; we stayed in a guest house near the church. The railway was still functioning and my brother 15 and I were permitted to go to Aberystwyth by (steam) train, and up Vale of Rheidol narrow gauge railway. No jeans and T shirts in those days, I wore my best tweed coat, and my brother grey flannels and sports jacket. We also walked across the railway bridge, the toll was a haβpenny . Happy days, enjoy your trip Don xxx
I remember the area in those days. B y son couldnβt believe it when he stopped a whacking great steam engine at Llandanwg Halt just by putting his arm out.π
I spent a family holiday near Barmouth nearly sixty years ago now, walked across the railway bridge and then later took my young children back there...sandcastles on the beach.
A visit to Harlech too and Shell Island.
Thanks for the update Don on your travels .
Lovely we might have met all years ago and here I am writing to you while sitting on Barmouth promenade in my van.
Lovely to see your travels. Have a great time.
Barmouth was a favourite of ours when the children were young. Camped close to the beach. Would have been a bit cold for Midge to paddle. Bella had a relaxing day on the train.
The waves were too high she only has little legs. The weather turned out not so had after all. Cloudy no sun much but not bad.π
Used to go camping at Dyffryn Ardudwy and Tal-y-Bont just up the road from Barmouth many many years ago
Just seen this photo looks a lovely place midge is taking in the view. π
She was looking to see if there was any chance of a run and a paddle, but the wind was blowing a gale and there where white-topped waves crashing on the beach. π
